We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and customer centric Duty Manager to join our dynamic team, overseeing the daily operation of our Bridge Achievement Centre. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an educational environment that supports both students and staff. From ensuring a safe and welcoming experience for students, staff and visitors you will support the staff to enable them to deliver outstanding learning experiences for the students in their care.  We would love to hear from you if you find either of these opportunities appealing. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth, safe and effective day-to-day operation of the school . You will support staff on site and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and carry out basic maintenance tasks. You will ensure facilities are maintained to the highest standards and that all visitors enjoy a safe and positive experience of the school. 


Hours, Pay and Benefits

Hours: 

There are options for either

  • A full time, term time contract on a fixed term basis,  working 37 hours per week 

or  

  • A full-time fixed term maternity position, working 37 hours per week

 

Pay:  

  • £29,397-£33360 per annum (Pro Rata)

Key Experiences and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

  • Current First Aid at Work Qualification 

  • Possess sound knowledge of the operation of a facility 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Able to organise and prioritise own work and to meet deadlines 

  • Able to work under pressure 

  • Managing buildings, equipment and resources 

  • Able to demonstrate enthusiasm and personal motivation 

  • Ability to work early mornings and evenings 

  • Be physically able to undertake all aspects of facility work including lifting and carrying 

 

Beneficial Qualifications, Skills and Experience  

  • Current Pool Plant Operator Certificate 

  • Current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification 

  • Possess IOSH Working Safely or above 

  • Able to carry out building and grounds maintenance 

  • Be able to use basic hand tools for maintenance and grounds maintenance


Role Requirements

Reporting into the Community Leisure Facility Manager, you will provide high-quality support service to school staff, students and contractors.  

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Be responsible for the security of the venue, equipment and for the opening and closing of the venue at the beginning and end of the day 

  • Manage the defect reporting, safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of equipment and take necessary action to ensure the equipment is compliant and any corrective action is taken. 

  • Regularly tour and inspect all areas of the venue and grounds to identify maintenance, security, safety and cleaning requirements and to take prompt action to deal with matters requiring immediate attention. To ensure a high-quality service for all customers and meet minimum operational standards. 

  • On every shift be responsible for the venue to ensure high presentation standards are maintained. 

  • Monitor environmental conditions throughout the venue and to manage the building control systems as required and report any defects for rectification immediately.  

  • Ensure that all areas of the building are prepared in advance of the staff and students arrival. 

  • Be a principle key holder and to respond to out of hours emergencies as required. 

  • Undertake routine administrative and technical work as directed by the Community Leisure Facilities Manager or other service specific managers.  

  • Carry out routine daily grounds and building maintenance to ensure the facility is safe and fit for purpose.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check.
