Are you good at engaging, coaching, or teaching children and young people? Have you an interest in and/or experience in coaching sport, teaching, delivering physical activity, or even in youth engagement? We are looking to recruit a small number of passionate, motivated individuals to work flexibly to suit you, as well as our Community Sport and Wellbeing teams, programmes, and timetables, which could be during the school holidays, term-time, during the day and/or evenings and weekends. You might be unemployed, retired/semi-retired, have a family, be young and looking for work, or employed elsewhere looking for additional income and experiences. You will be a key member of the team, as you will be working directly with children and young people, alongside others, in a variety of facilities, outdoor spaces, communities and schools.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Experience of working with children and organising coaching sessions and competitions
Level 2 or equivalent award in relation to sports coaching or leadership
National Governing Body (NGB) sports coaching qualification
First aid qualification
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Ability to organise and plan sports coaching activities, and adapt to varying abilities and ages

To deliver sport and physical activity coaching and engagement activities for the Community Sport & Wellbeing teams’ sports development and positive futures youth engagement programmes in a variety of communities, settings, facilities, and schools; during the day, evening, weekend, and/or during school holidays or term-time, flexibly to suit requirements and availability of opportunities.
Reporting to Community Sport & Wellbeing Development Managers and Officers, you will provide inspiring opportunities for children and young people to be physically active and engaged positively in sport.
Working as part of a team, you will assist in the delivery of sport and physical activity sessions, activities and events, safely and efficiently.
Main responsibilities include:
To provide quality coaching experiences for children and young people.
To actively engage and recruit children and young people to participate in sessions, activities and events.
To maintain accurate administration records for all coaching sessions.
To promote sport in areas of social deprivation, being inclusive in your delivery.
Be responsible for the safe preparation of facilities and equipment as required by the coaching programme.
Be willing to undertake additional training where relevant.
Be responsible for the health and safety of themselves and others in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work act 1974.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to a successful Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Flexibility to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends is required.
Due to the need to travel between sites or occasionally to other locations, a full UK driving licence and the willingness to add business class insurance is beneficial to your application.
