Newport Live is currently recruiting independent Non-Executive Trustees with a passion for Newport. We are a Charitable Trust, that strives to Inspire People to be Happier and Healthier, through engagement and participation in sport and leisure, theatre, arts and culture.

Role Requirements

This role help us deliver our strategic objectives as we seek to continue to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic and support the economic and well-being regeneration of Newport, as we Inspire People to be Happier and Healthier.

Steve Ward, Chief Executive of Newport Live said, “We’re looking to recruit people with a passion for Newport, who have the expertise, energy, and ambition to help us continue our success and deliver strategic objectives that support the economic and wellbeing regeneration of Newport. Especially as we continue to respond to the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic and the cost-of-living challenges that our communities face.”

Trustees are required to support the Chief Executive to lead the governance of the Trust in the provision of well-being, sport, leisure arts and cultural facilities and community intervention and engagement programmes in the interests of social welfare to the local communities. An important part of the role is to steer and lead the organisation to ensure it promotes community participation. Wherever possible positively influencing the behaviours of the public on the benefit of living and practicing an active lifestyle and the value of the arts and physical activity upon their physical and mental well-being and quality of life.
